About

Redbud Tours got its start in 1998 when one of my friends asked if I would be interested in taking a group of ladies to the Dallas Quilt Show. Well, my first thought was will there be enough people interested?  I quickly discovered the enormous popularity of quilts and quilt trips.  I chartered my first motor-coach and relied on the experience of my sister, Lila, who was a retired travel agent and with my love of planning and organizing trips our first quilt trip was underway.  That is how Redbud Tours began and the rest is history, or so the story goes.

Since that time my beloved sister has gone to live with Our Lord Jesus, however, I have persevered with guidance from above.  Our tours have expanded  to include 4 or more quilting trips per year, the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas  (the end of October), The American Quilter’s Society Quilt Show in Paducah, KY. (held in April each year), and the largest outdoor quilt show in the U.S. held in the quaint little town of Sister’s, Oregon (second Saturday in July).

Beginning in summer 2010, we will have a new look, more tours and the addition of facebook.   We will begin offering shopping tours to some of the Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and Kansas quilt shops.   We will offer ,for the first time, the “Hop The River”  quilt shop hop as well as the “Road to Oklahoma” Quilt shop hop; a week long trip to visit the Pennsylvania Amish,  The Muskogee Azalea Festival, held every spring at Honor Park in Muskogee, will be a new addition as well.

Depending on their popularity, our tours can change annually so please visit often for a complete list of tours, including any additions or cancellations.

I sincerely hope you enjoy our new site and I look forward to meeting you soon!

Thank you so much for visiting Redbud Tours.
